Castle Hills

"The city has undergone many changes since its incorporation in 1951, when water fees were $1 each month, soda pop was $.05, Northwest Military Highway was a peach orchard, and City Hall, which was then located at the intersection of West Avenue and Northwest Military Highway, was the City Garage.

Castle Hills has managed to evolve and develop at a comfortable pace. Today it is a vital and vibrant community. Most of the property in Castle Hills remains private residential property, with large lots, and an abundance of trees. The city also has superior educational facilities and public leadership, all of which exemplify the best of small city government.

Presently the city enjoys a diverse population of 4200 residents, with over 600 medium to small businesses, including retail specialty stores, many fine restaurants, hair salons and other personal service establishments, public and private schools, and churches.

The city employs a staff of 65 persons. We pride ourselves in our customer friendly services and outstanding services from the Police, Fire and Public Works, including Street and Sanitation departments. If you have any questions or concerns the staff is always ready to help. The annual city budget for FY 2013 is approximately $5.4 million dollars.

It is a community shaped by the inflections of its early days along with a spirit of cooperation and pride that continue to keep Castle Hills known as the “City of Beautiful Homes.” "-City of Castle Hills
